Creating Bleeds
A bleed occurs anytime you want your image to print to the edge of your printed piece. Image must be larger than finished product and then cut down to size after printing. Printing presses, photocopiers and laser devices all work within certain specifications that are not exact! This means that there will be minor variances of print location between each print made. If you stop your image on the eact edge of your work you will find minor gaps or blank spaces along the edge of your job once it gets cuts to size.
